This may come to you as a shock, but Google now wants your real name while commenting and using YouTube. A step which clearly indicates the globalization of Google+ profiles on all Google accounts.
The most favorite activity on YouTube videos apart from like and dislike buttons, is the commenting system. YouTube gets a huge amount of comments which is a record by itself. Sometimes these comments also becomes violent and hence spamming takes place. On the other hand, Google has well realized the fact that YouTube is one of the most powerful tool it has. There could not be any better way to promote Google+ on YouTube than forcing them to merge their YouTube profiles with Google+ profiles.
From today onwards, whenever you will try to comment on YouTube it will ask you to use your full name from your Google+ account.
After updating your name, your YouTube profile will be converted to the Google+ profile. If you change name in Google+, it will automatically be updated everywhere. Happily the YouTube channel and videos will remain intact as it is. This procedure will link both your accounts, so when you comment from next time people can reach you through your Google+ account. Be careful about it, they can be your parents too!
PROS:
There are many advantages associated with this decision of merging YouTube account with Google+. The very obvious one is to promote Google+ and to attract YouTube users to join Google+. Another most important advantage would be to restrict the number of spam comments in the YouTube. Visitors will now fear to write spam comments as their profiles will be linked. Managing a single account instead of two is another great advantage.
CONS:
Staying anonymous was the most important factor for the popularity of YouTube in recent times. The disclosure of the real names would surely prevent them to comment anymore. Also there is no way where you can track down all your previous comments. I tried searching this feature in my account and couldn’t find it. If you get it do drop the link below. Google please watch out for this feature in future updates to YouTube.
This major step to globalize the Google accounts will surely have a great impact on the users of Google. Forcing people to show them real name when they already frustrated with loads of Ads on the videos can affect the viewership of YouTube. Let me know what do you think about this below. Henceforth, guys we are gonna use a “Google+ Tube”! <evil smile> Facebook on the other hand is still looking to waste its money on useless takeovers.
