A GT Version of the SLS AMG has been launched by Mercedes-Benz recently which promises to provide enhanced driving dynamics as well as improved track performance.
Maximum output of 435kW (591HP), redeveloped AMG RIDE CONTROL Performance suspension and the optimized AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission makes Mercedes SLS AMG one of the best automobiles in the car industry. To add to the features it is also available as a Coupé and a Roadster. It accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds to an electronically limited top speed of 198 mph.
The new SLS AMG GT demonstrates the sort of potential which lies in AMG’s super sports cars. With its even higher levels of performance, the SLS AMG GT excites out on the race track in particular by providing an emotionally enjoyable and passionate driving experience.

The Front mid-engine of the GT version of AMG which has 6.3 litre V8 is more responsive to accelerator pedal movements. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7′s speed sports transmission has also been optimized to shorten up the reaction time with a significant amount. Mercedes also has developed AMG RIDE CONTROL Performance suspension with twin aluminium wishbones all round and variable and electronically controlled damping. As compared to AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, AMG RIDE CONTROL Performance suspension has stiffer spring/damper tuning and there is no “Comfort” mode. There are two different modes which the drivers can select, ”Sport” and “Sport plus” modes.
For undulating road surfaces and routes requiring increased suspension travel the SPORTS mode is recommended while for flatter roads and tracks “SPORTS Plus” mode can be used. SPORTS plus has higher damping forces and features specific control algorithms which is best for flatter tracks.
The interior of the SLS AMG GT has Alcantara finishing on the centre sections and door panels with embossed badging on the head restraints. In the black interior it has red seat belts, with all of the contrasting stitching on the AMG sports seats. The centre console and door panel lining also red colored in black interior.
Mercedes SLS AMG GT will be available for sale in the UK in October 2012, and the pricing is yet to be confirmed.
