Earlier this month we had covered the launch of an ultra powerful gaming laptop, the EON 15 S from Origin PC. It seems like even Origin too is following the footsteps of Alienware by announcing the launch of their 11 inch model, the EON 11 S. It’s a first for the company as they have never produced an 11 inch laptop before. However it wasn’t a big surprise to us as this model is an exact replica of the Clevo made notebook unveiled 3 days ago.

    eon11 s1 ORIGIN joins the 11 inch club !!

This one is only branded under Origin PC and has a provision of various colors. This mean machine is priced at $999 and packs a lot of punch by providing goodies like a 2 GB NVIDIA Gt 650 M GPU, and the latest optimus technology of switch-able graphics. This beauty costs exactly $100 less than netgear’s offering. The EON 11 S is now packed with a much better battery and is reported to provide a 6 hours back up (Personally I believe that’s ridiculously long for any gaming laptop). There is also a provision of customizing the laptop with the latest Ivy Bridge processor from Intel however that is going bump up the price to $1295.

The CEO of Origin PC, Kevin Wasielewski says it’s the age of ‘ultra-books’ and every one wants a laptop that is thin, light and can play most of the modern games and the EON 11 S is definitely close to fulfilling this dream.

There is another very interesting news attached with the launch of this model from Origin PC, it’s reported that Dell is going to silently discontinue the 11 inch Alienware. This is a shame even though the 11X was a bit too impractical for serious gamers, which leaves the EON 11 S as only of its kind in the 11 inch segment.

All in all the EON 11 S is a good choice for gamers who wish for a thin, compact and powerful gaming machine and do not mind to pay the few extra bucks.
