It seems like the HCL Tablet already have their rivals in India in the form of the Android 4.0 ICS based Micromax Funbook (so called tablet). Aimed at the young gen of the country, the device acts as a computing stage aimed at learning and can be engaged for multimedia purposes as well, reveals Micromax.
About 1cm thick, the Funbook has been fitted with a 18 cm (approx) capacitive touch screen and integrated with a powerful 1.2GHz processor along with a mere 512MB RAM. Supports 1080p video playback, the device has a 0.3MP VGA camera and an expansion slot for a micro SD card of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32GB. It comes in two shades – silver and black and also includes learning material from Universal tutorials, Everonn, Pearson, GK Publishers and many more. It offers variety of study materials for different courses comprising medical, engineering and MBA.

It is packed along with carry case that doubles up as a car headrest, HDMI cable, wireless headset, USB cable and a screen guard to protect your screen from scratch. A well-matched keyboard will also be released in a few months.
The Micromax Funbook comes at a price of Rs 6,699 and can be bought from authorized dealers. It offers 1GB of absolutely free download for the first two months.
