So, here is a new addition to our Tips N Tricks section. In this post we are going to show how you can customize your Kindle Fire by adding rocking apps, great stuff and stupendous designs. The best part is that it won’t cost you even a penny.

Get More Apps (Get even the ones Amazon does not approve)

Yes, you heard it right. If you have a tablet and you don’t have the scope to browse thousands of android apps and install them then it’s a complete waste.Amazon has a good app store. But what if you want an app that’s not Amazon approved or present in the app store? Without some serious tweaking you will not be able to install the Android apps from Google Play. Still you can install third party apps, even the ones that are not approved by Amazon, to your Kindle Fire. Just go to the Settings->Device. Turn on Allow Installation Of Applications. This will configure your device to download and install third party apps. So, now you have the freedom of installing several interesting apps you would not have otherwise installed in your Kindle Fire. Ain’t it cool?

Use The Cloud (Store upto 5GB of media)

But ask yourself? Is it enough? What if you want some more space? What if you found a great video and you want to go beyond 8GB ? We have a great tips for you. Use the Amazon Cloud Player which offers you 5GB of storage that obviously doesn’t affect your physical storage. Upto 5GB the space is free. But if you want to go beyond 5GB you have to pay. For example you get 20GB space for $20.

Add Any Videos To Your Tablet

To add any video to your Kindle Fire you will first have to convert the media file to a format Kindle recognizes. To do that you have to use a converter tool to change the format of video to MPEG 4.  After the conversion is done just use the USB mini cable  to put the videos in the Video folder of the tablet and enjoy. Wondering about the converter? That shouldn’t be a problem. Just google to get a list of converter utilities and start playing videos on the kindle fire.

    Change The UI completely

So, if you don’t want to root the device and but still need the UI to be changed then it is possible through launcher programs. These launchers allow you to customize the UI of the tablet. For instance you might download Go Launcher EX. After downloading install the app and thee will be an option to set Go Launcher EX as your default user interface.

    Securing Your Files

At last security comes to picture. This is for those who are paranoid about the secure storage of their documents and other data. To password protect your device just go to Settings -> More -> Security and turn on Lock screen password.
