Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310 Coming to India

Samsung’s first tablet series featuring Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the Galaxy Tab 2 was announced in February this year. Two devices, one of 7 inches and another of 10 inches were announced at the time.
It has a 1 GHz processor which is supported by 1 GB of RAM. Its display features the new PLS (Plane to Line Switching) technology and has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. On the connectivity front it supports HSPA+ network (3G) which offers upto a maximum of 21 Mbps. It has a 3 MP camera at the back and a VGA camera at the front. Apart from the regular old GPS, it also features the Russian GLONASS satellite tracking for postition-tracking. It has a rather large battery which stores 4000 mAh. It will be available in variants of WiFi only and WiFi+3G and with memory options of 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB. It will also feature the new Google Play store, which was launched recently.
Looking at the specifications it does feel like a standard tablet that should be able to deliver quite well. Anyway, it is set to launch in India and other South-West Asian markets in April. It should cost about 23,000/- for the basic configuration on launch. Samsung already as about 40% market share in the tablet-market in India. This new addition would strengthen their hold even more.

The GALAXY Tab 2 310 is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor that makes it a true powerhouse for multimedia downloading and sharing. The GALAXY Tab 2 310 can also access content from the cloud via AllShare Play, which allows content to be transferred between the tablet and other devices.
Beyond content, the GALAXY Tab 2 310 features WiFi Direct and built-in social networking features such as ChatON, Samsung’s unique cross-platform communication service which makes connecting and sharing socially easier than ever.
