In yet another development, Apple flexes its muscle with launching of “new iPad”.Its old rival Samsung can neither be ignored in terms of its capabilities to set up a keen contest. The comparison as per the specifications is enumerated below.

Processor

The new iPad is packed with Apple’s latest 1GHz A5X processor which includes high-performance, low power system on a chip with “quad core” graphics.

Samsung Galaxy tab has 1GHz dual core Cortex-A9 processor, Nvidia Tegra 2 T20 chip-set and ULP GeForce GPU which is fast compared to most of the other tablets in the stores at the moment.

Display

 

The new iPad has a 9.7 inch screen LED-backlit IPS TFT, capacitive touchscreen with 2048 x 1536 pixels and 264 ppi pixel density. That’s 4 times than that of iPad2 with fingerprint-resistant oleo phobic coating.

Samsung galaxy Tab 10.1 has a 10.1 inch screen TFT capacitive Touchscreen with 800 x 1280 pixels and 149 ppi pixel density.

Operating System

Galaxy tab is powered with Android 3.0 Honeycomb and is rumoured to get an Android 4.0 updates. But no official words have yet been received.

With iOS5 in tablets they have tried to take it to a new level.

Camera

The New iPad has

• Front-facing secondary VGA camera
•  Auto focus rear facing camera with iSight and CMOS sensor setup

•  Video capabilities of 1080p at 30fps

Battery

New iPad comes with  Li-Po 42.5 Watt-Hour providing Stand-by up to 720 hours and talk time up to 10 hours.

Galaxy Tab 10.1v has a standard 6860 Li-Po battery which provides a huge stand by of up to 1810 long hours and talk time up to 10 hours.

Samsung hasn’t yet released any official words on the pricing,but they did say that Galaxy Tab will cost around $470(excluding taxes) when it reaches Sweden.

We expect that Samsung will reduce the price so as to compete with the new iPad.
