For weeks we waited with bated breath for iPad 3, the best and the most popular tablet of the planet. But apart from the faster chip, really really good screen and 4G integration we didn’t get anything else. 

You might be surprised by our reaction. But it’s true. First and the foremost we don’t need 4G here (We can’t!). But then we also don’t need the huge display scrammed into a 9.7 inch display. It doesn’t matter that much to us anyway. Pictures and videos did look wonderful on the iPad 2. Books were not only readable but looked splendid on the previous edition too. As for the faster chip inside, no one needs that now. As the speed tests have shown, it is as fast as a Tegra 3 out there. So at a similar price, A Transformer Prime would be a better option for anyone (After June, 2012).

As for the camera it is as good as the camera on iPhone 4S. But it is a bit better in shooting videos. Yes you will be delighted about the number of pixels that have been doubled from its previous version. Especially in the case of bigger and high-resolution pictures you can pinch and zoom way more and still see the objects clearly. The new display would be useless if the apps cannot keep up with it in terms of image-quality. Hence the iPad apps are being upgraded too, to look crisper, sharper and more stunning.

The only deciding feature then is the 4G network. It is way faster than 3G. But then if you are not watching HD videos on Youtube back to back or streaming your movies directly, you should be better off with the 3G iPad (iPad 2). But if you are one of those consumers who watch each and every video their friends share, they can go for it!

Since you have the money to buy the new iPad and are too excited to buy it, then just go for it. You won’t regret it. But if you are willing to buy an iPad and are confused between iPad 2 and the new iPad, go for iPad 2. You can buy some good books, apps and movies with the money you save from this. As for us we would be content with the iPad 2.
