Well as we covered the launch of the new iPad and fiddled with it enough, we came to find out a lot about it. There are quite a few changes made by Apple and some of them are very welcoming and refreshing. Apple has shifted from its numeric naming to an unconventional one, they decided to stick with the NEW keyword for this product.
The most important and catching change made by Apple is in it’s screen- It’s a pure pleasure for pixel enthusiasts featuring a 2048X1536 resolution on a 9.7 inch screen. This sums up to a healthy 264 PPI.
The screen is a treat for the eyes and Apple has to be truly appreciated for not only producing such an amazing display but also making us know what application of technology can make us achieve. Colors are sharp, detailed and the viewing angles are simply amazing. It just didn’t produce any washout on viewing at insane angles.
The camera is now upgraded to 5MP and the front facing cam also produces nice images. The rear cam uses the same technology as the iPhone 4s does and the cam is now able to shoot 1080p videos too.
As of now, no Siri has been installed on iPad and we guess that Apple doesn’t want to include it as it is still a Beta. The quad-core graphics is a true welcome too. While we didn’t find many apps to put the snappy GPU to its real use, however we bet game developers would be really working hard to put that GPU to some serious test.
Apple has started to release some new apps exclusively for the new tablet, but it is going to be interesting to see how app developers scale down their apps to fit into the non-retina display of iPad 1 and 2. The upcoming months will be pretty interesting as we expect Apple to provide various apps specifically customized to use the retina display.
The tablet costs a hefty $500 but there is absolutely no doubt in the fact that this device is worth every single cent of it. Apple has released various versions of the iPad ranging from 16GB wifi to 64 GB wifi and also included the 4G LTE versions of 16GB and 32GB each.
