iPad 3 Coming Soon (Rumours Abound)

While we do have two perfectly fine and stable iPads in the market, we still gloss over the news of a new iPad. Yes, we are talking about the iPad 3 which might be announced as early as March 7th. This piece of news comes from Rene Ritchie of iMore who is known for reliable news and tidbits. It also supports the first-week timeline as expected by several other pundits.
Meanwhile we also have some information about the specs and upgrades in the new tablet from Apple. It is expected to have a new processor namely the A6 which may or may not be a quad-core. Other than that it will also have a retina display at 2048×1356 pixels packed into the 9.7 screen. While this may entirely be a false-alarm but some are also buzzing about an LTE version. This just means that iPad will go 4G. But this is unexpected as iPhone 4S is still on 3G and this year’s iPhone release is way off. A really possible upgrade is an HD front-facing camera. But a big addition might be the debut of Siri on the iPad!
WSJ recently reported that Apple is testing an 8-inch iPad and that it will be set to challenge the 7-inch Android tablets. While the news about the testing might be true, there may not be any reason for Apple to actually release one. iPad in its current form has sold a lot. It doesn’t need a facelift. Yet! No news yet for the release to retail though the 3rd or 4th week of March might be tentative. Till then, sit tight!
