Latest Apple Updates

I know it is very rare for us fanboys not to talk about Apple and its wonderful products everyday. We ourselves missed that daily dose of Apple goodness. But we are back with a lot of news from Cupertino!
After enjoying a huge success with the touchscreen-based devices Apple may now be looking forward to making touchscreens for iMacs. According to a patent application published by the USPTO, Apple has filed the said application to patent a touchscreen knob slider mechanism for desktops. This might indicate that we could see touchscreen iMacs soon which has a hybrid version of Mac OS X and iOS! But there is another possibility too which is more probable.
According to a separate report Tristan Schaap, a former intern and current employee at Apple was working on porting OS X to devices running on ARM processors. As we all know ARM processors are primarily used in tablets and smartphones. So this might lead to a conclusion which also supports the previous piece of news and that is- they are building a tablet running OS X! Even a better proposition would be touchscreen-based MacBook Airs. Now that it is expected that the future versions of MacBook Pros are going to be shaped and built like MBAs, we might as well see the evolution of the current MBAs into a hybrid version of MacBook Pro and iPad. Though at this point all of this is just a speculation and none of this may even be realised in reality! But it does open up a lot of possibilities to speculate upon.
The unofficial Apple Spokesman John Gruber indicated that there might be a hardware change in the form a display upgrade around the corner. His conclusions are based on some high-definition images of the hand-cursor and other OS X UI elements released in some reports recently. The recent updates of Lion(10.7.3) have enabled some Mac Minis to boot into HiDPI mode which is a high resolution mode. The HiDPI mode does not decrease the size of the elements on the screen as seen on the HD displays normally but just increases the image quality. Thus Gruber deduced that there might be a chance of the displays on MacBooks and iMacs being upgraded to retina display. But he also warned that this is just some ‘wishful thinking’!
Collecting bits of the iPad 3 buzz around the web, we have found some interesting news. iPad 3 might be getting a retina screen this time around as the Android tablets have already entered the 1080p domain. And then we might as well have an HD front camera to enable some HD Facetime. Since there are quadcore processors already being used by some tablets(Optimus Prime), the next processor(most probably named as A6) might be quadcore as well. There might also be a RAM upgrade from the 512MB in iPad 2. A good news is that we might have Siri on the iPad finally in the next version. 4G lovers may rejoice in anticipation as some have reported the possibility of the iPad 3 supporting 4G LTE. As for the design segment we are not expecting any revolutionary changes.
That’s it for now but we promise to give you some more Apple news very soon!
