Wikipedia Blacks Out Against SOPA

Lending a big voice to the Anti-SOPA movement, Wikipedia has shut down its English site for 24 hours. It will be shut down from 05:00 UTC Wed to 05:00 UTC Thu. If you visit the site today, it reads like this-
Without Free Knowledge
For more than a decade, we have spent millions of hours building the largest encyclopedia in human history. Right now, the U.S. Congress is considering legislation that could fatally damage the free and open Internet. For 24 hours, to raise awareness, we are blacking out Wikipedia.

SOPA(Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA(Protect IP Act) are scheduled to be passed in the U.S. Congress in February. These acts have come under heavy fire from many activists and internet evangelists who claim that it will violate the first amendment and cripple the internet.
