There is no doubt 2012 is gearing up to be an amazing year for gadgets freaks. Whether it is mobile phones, gaming consoles or smartphones, many amazing gadgets will be launched within next 12 months. So, let us have a look at what 2012 holds for us.

Mobile Phones:

According to tech enthusiasts mobile phones and smartphones are going to be the main battleground for the tech giants like Sony, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft and others. It is true that Nokia launched many quality and feature rich devices last year, but it could not surpass the Apple iProducts or Android devices in terms of sales. Nokia Lumia 800 was also regarded as one of the best Window powered gadgets. Still it didn’t get remarkable amount of sales. So, this year we expect some amazing smartphones from Nokia that can give serious competition to Apple ‘s iDevices or Samsung’s Galaxy Series.  It is worth noticing that a new Samsung Galaxy Tab is going to be launched very soon in 2012.

There are lots of rumors about the launch of Apple iPhone 5 and iPad 3 . Some say iPhone 5 is going to be thinner and it will also have 4 inch screen along with NFC and 4G support. Last year many expected the launch of iPhone 5. But surprisingly iPhone 4S was launched. So, Apple fans are pretty excited to see iPhone 5 soon this year. Similarly there are a lot of rumors about launch of iPad 3. Many sources even claim that the device may get launched in February.

There is no doubt Sony is relying heavily on Xperia presently. Even it gets around 80% of its total mobile sales from this gadget. After the split with Ericsson the honchos at Sony Corporation have confirmed that from now on they will be producing smartphones. Sony is one of the top notch gadgets manufacturers in the industry and we do hope to see the best smartphones from Sony soon this year.

Gaming Consoles:

Microsoft XBOX 360 has got tremendous success in terms of sales last year. Tens of millions of units were sold and it was also liked all over. The important point is the device was launched in 2005 and it is pretty old now. So, there are rumors that Xbox 720 might be releasing in late 2012 or early 2013. Gamers are eagerly waiting to see Xbox 720. But no body knows the accurate release date till now and it will be clear only after the official declaration.

It is being said that Microsoft is under pressure to launch Xbox 720 in 2012 only because of PlayStation. In recent times PlayStation 3 has given a tremendous competition to Xbox 360 and now Sony’s development team is moving towards launching PS 4. According to latest rumors the highlighting features in PS 4 will be: Blue Ray support, a redesigned PSN, portable gaming data, more power and most importantly backward compatibility. The release date has not been confirmed yet, but we expect it in the market soon this year.
