ACQUISITION BY GOOGLE
Not much was known about the company at the time of acquisition by Google, but it is evident that, GOOGLE stepped into the mobile phone market by taking over the Android company in August 2005 (nearly 2 years after the company’s establishment) & since then , Android became the wholly owned subsidiary of Google Inc. Google has worked hard and has left no stone unfurnished to make Android Compatible.

OPEN HANDSET ALLIANCE
The goal is to provide open standards for mobile devices. It is an association of quite good number of firms to develop open standards for mobile devices. It was established on 5th November 2007 led by Google with 34 mobile handset makers, some app developers, mobile carriers and some of the great chip makers. Its purpose is to make Android, an open platform for the developers to build mobile apps.
Android’s success lies in its open Source feature. As it is Open source, developers all over the world thrive to write apps for I and so is the case I with me & my friends. One is free to download the SDK from their official website i.e www.android.com and start developing one’s own app and publish the same.
