Well, LG has not been very much successful in making profit from its smartphones in recent days.  On Monday they launched a handset LG Optimus LTE that runs on 4G network. It was reported that LG suffered 5 consecutive quarterly losses and perhaps that is the main reason behind the launch of this 4G enabled smartphone.  They have certainly launched this device keeping future in mind.

LG’s domestic  marketing head Na Young-bae says that Optimus LTE is LG’s ambitious product that mobilizes their LTE and display technologies.

This device is the first smartphone in Korea to offer clear HD content over 4G network, says LG electronics CEO Jong-seok Park.

The device has got a 4.5 inch HD screen with 1280×720 resolution and features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1.3MP front facing camera. The screen resolution is even better than the newly launched iPhone 4s which is 960×640. You can record full HD videos with the camera. Optimus LTE runs on Google Android 2.3(Gingerbread) and 1830 mAh battery. Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz dual core processor will definitely boost its performance.

The RAM is 1 GB and the device comes with 4GB internal memory. The memory is expandable upto 32 GB. There is also an HDMI port and it also supports file transfer between DLNA devices like a TV. Optimus LTE comes with stereo FM. For connectivity it has bluetooth and WiFi.

The device seems to be very good in terms of features and functionalities. But there is no news available about the launch of LG Optimus LTE outside Korea. The expected price seems to be $740 (approx).
