Tablets wars are getting hotter by each passing day. Check out who’s new on the tablet block ready to compete with Apple and Samsung!
Sony corporations unveiled their first tablet to the rest of the world named TABLET S. It cleared the intentions of becoming the leading corporation in the growing Android tablet market.
They will begin selling it on September 17 at a price of 45000 yen (584$). This device is about the size of an ipad but what makes it easier to hold is its Wedge shaped design. Another interesting feature is that it can also double up as a universal remote control.
Sony also unveiled another tablet named, Tablet P, which is set to hit the stores in November in Japanese market. Its special features are that it’s small enough to fit in a purse and opens like a book to reveal two screens. It can be held vertically and show one page on each screen when held for ebook reading. Also while composing email the upper screen will show the message and the lower screen shows the keyboard.
Apple holds about 85% of the Japanese market shares in tablets so Sony’s main aim is to challenge this domination. Along with that what Sony aims to change is the casual, personal use of tablets. It wants to bring about a change so that the whole family can use it even for household necessities.
This device will connect to Sony’s cloud computing based library for movies and music, digital books from Sony’s reader store and Sony playstation video games adapted for running on android. Its features do generate huge curiosity regarding the product but whether it manages to compete with apple and Samsung in the tablet market remains to be seen.
