It looks like Facebook is learning a lot from Google+. In the recent announcement made by the Facebook on the sharing options on 23rd August 2011, it declared many new upcoming changes in a note! It was surprising enough to see that many were directly copied from Google+’s sharing options. It can be said that Facebook is learning a lesson and improving all the things before it falls into the pit.

So what’s new that Facebook has got? This time it planning to get not one but many changes altogether. We will listing them out one by one as we proceed. They are making changes in the sharing a posts, sharing photos options, tagging friends visibility options and many more. They will make controls visible on two areas: what shows up on your profile, and what happens when you share something new. So lets start by discussing about sharing options on your profile.

    Profile Privacy Sharing Options

They have tried to give the profile a homely feel by making it more private affair. You can directly change settings of the stuffs from the profile itself. You don’t have to go the settings page for making your profile page private. They will be getting options which will be visible on the right hand side on every stuffs on the profile. You can click on it and change the visibility options. It is also going to be visible on the photo albums too. Stating it briefly, there will be a drop down menu against each posts, albums, home town, etc. So you know each time which one is visible to whom.

This is one of the best improvement that Facebook is going to get soon. This may be thought as a lesson from Google+ which brought the similar sharing options.

    Profile Tagging Privacy Options

Are you annoyed by the unnecessary profile tagging features? Don’t want your profile to be tagged in photos you don’t want to be? Facebook’s is getting a new sharing options for it. Every time someone tags you somewhere, Facebook will give you a notification and ask you for approval. Until you approve it, your profile will not be shown in that picture.

    Content Tag Review

They are also working on getting content tag approvals. So that when someone tags you on a posts too, you will be notified for approval. If you don’t like the post, disapprove it.

    View Profile As

Earlier you had to struggle to find out where to get the option to view your profile as someone else. But not any more! They are shifting it directly to the top right corner of your profile. So you can start typing anyone’s name and it will show you how you profile will look to them. If you want to hide some stuffs, then directly do it at the same moment.

    Tag Locations in Posts

This feature was first invented by Google+, then Facebook thought it to be cool enough and it is getting it soon. Facebook is getting the tagging Geo locations features with the posts, photos or even videos you share. If you want Facebook to show your current position, click on it and it will be visible with your posts. This will be something really very cool.

Well, I am just waiting for Facebook to comeout with these fatures as soon as possible. It is going to be a tough job for Google+ to compete with Facebook in the days to come. It was a very clever game played by Facebook to implement all its features so early. The strategy is very strong and Facebook will not allow to Google+ to overcome it so easily. If you have any suggestions about it do leave a response underneath.
